Originally posted by williamwbishop Of course not, we are 12 hours out of a relationship that most of us has maintained for a couple years at least. I sense a bit of hostility on your part however. If our arrival is a problem, let us know now, and we'll find somewhere else to go. Your first response to us was a sarcastic remark in fact, so I'm not assuming you to be neutral. Is there a reason you seem to be annoyed by our group? We have no plans to tread on your toes, and we are generally a very articulate and calm group. I do not see the problem, but I am not in your shoes so I may not see something that you do. Let us know what your apprehensions are, and we will try to address them. But we need to know if this is a permanent barrier or not early. We are not temporary kind of people, most of us stay put for years, not months.
You have to get use to acid, some take him the wrong way. If your round long enough you'll soon learn why he is a moderator and he is very knowledgeable.
I think it was just overwhelming for some of us that so many at one time have made a switch from one forum to ours. This is generally a quiet part of our forum where most are strictly here to ask and answer questions.
But here is my formal welcome to LQ to any newcomers. Welcome Newcomers !

I like helping others, but also enjoy some off topic discussion while I'm looking around for help I can provide which is somewhat limited at the moment. Starting using gentoo which is helping considerably. I have a BS in Computer Engineering.
Degrees in social work and psychology.
Certified in aix, solaris, NT, 2k, cisco, and novell 5. All of them are now either retired, useless, or inactive but one.
Originally posted by williamwbishop I wouldn't think so...you know what is sad though? We put him on the ignore list for all that time, he posts his first on-topic response and they abolish the open forum. That is depressing.
More like ironic. You know what's silly is that i've been using an e-mail account here for getting updates on the threads from the other board for a long time, guess its about time to earn that free e-mail account

We are pretty decent people, couple of mild trolls, but you seem to have a nice place here. We visit linuxjunior and secularlife also, we're really looking for a new permanent home for 20-50 users minimum.
Anyway, that is the cause behind the sudden group of new guys here, don't mind us we'll blend right into the background.
Here!!! Here!!!
Hey! I chose a better username (not a lame one) this time
