this post at Scot's). Anyway, after installing Ruari's scripted latest version of FF and Ponce's modification of Ruari's script for latest Thunderbird (worked really well, by the way), I found that I was having issues playing some vids at news sites and on YouTube/Invidious.
Turns out, for whatever reason, that I did not have FFmpeg and H264 installed.

The codec issue has been resolved. YAY! The music is playing once again...
