@moldavia Try using the nvidia 530.30.02 along with optimal properly working cables using grub on a uefi system. I have had problems with lilo in the past with vt switching and grub tends to
be more up to date. In my own honest opinion if a system supports grub and uefi it should really use it or you may have problems. Also i have had problems with sub-optimal cables as well. And
maybe if you can afford it you might want to upgrade your video card. You get what you pay for. It has also been my experience that nomodeset is not needed when you have the nvidia drivers installed
and nvidiafb may also cause problems as well i wouldn't use it.
I may have failed to mention that everything was working fine previously. I did say I don't know when the issue started, but my bootloader, cables and card hadn't changed. Kernel, driver and other system package updates had. I dual boot with rEFInd, elilo works fine thank you.
And you're right. I got what I paid for, a perfectly working 1660Ti that has been solid for over 2 years. We don't all have money for RTX cards.
Kernel 5.19.17 and driver 525.85.02 seem to be working.

Could be placebo effect, but XFCE4 feels a bit better performance? The 530.41.03 driver doesn't fix the framebuffer problem current's been having with nvidia cards and the 6.1 kernel. That they just fixed the IBT problem makes me think it's going to be the next big thing tackled.

Fixed an issue where HDMI audio output was not working in some cases, especially with high display refresh rates (120Hz, 100Hz, etc.) using Fixed Rate Link (FRL) transmission mode.

I'm seeing Linux x64 (AMD64/EM64T) Display Driver 525.105.17 with release date 2023.3.30 for download. Added compatibility for Linux kernels with Indirect Branch Tracking (IBT).
Added support for console restoration when using simpledrm.

Updated NVIDIA Turing Firmware Published For Open-Source Nouveau Driver
By Michael Larabel. 4 April 2023.
NVIDIA has published updated NVIDIA TU10x /TU11x "Turing" GPU firmware to support newer RTX 20 hardware revisions and fix outstanding issues affecting the open-source Nouveau driver........
Does it exit plasma and get a working run 3 terminal?
I can't say about 525.105.17 but for the most part 470.182.03 does most of the time now. Still hit and miss but not a often as in the past. I frequently had to reboot from ssh using my cell phone. Now not so much, I am happy with that.
