There is no updates, patch or security wise for anything under php 8.0, yet 7.4 is still in -current
May I suggest Pat you dump it and move 8.1 from extra into -current, unless you're brave enough to try teh just released 8.2.0
...
(and with some housekeeping might be good idea to sort that out in 15.0 too, maybe to 8.0 ? which gets security patches for another 10 months when it too becomes fully EOL)
(I know I know stupid php devs and their move to this short life cycle per release is a PITFA)
Over 120 individual programs plus dozens of programmer libraries and feature plugins
are released simultaneously as part of KDE Gear.
Code:
Today they all get new bugfix source releases with updated translations, including:
- Kitinerary now handles more NH booking confirmation variants and supports international Trenitialia tickets
- Konsole can save new profiles
- KDE PIM devs fixed the bug that crashed Kontact upon start
Move php-7.4.x from the main tree of -current into 'pasture' of -current
After php80 becomes EOL, move it from 'extra' into 'pasture' of -current
(php-5.6.40-x86_64-1.txz is already there)
Move php81 from extra of -current into the main tree of -current

Not really
It's up to the distribution package maintainers to backport patches from 8.x branches
As you can see, 8.x have been upgraded and 7.x rebuilt
So, apparently, Patrick feels that enough Slackers are still using
PHP 7.4.x that it is worthwhile to keep it in the main tree
and to backport security fixes into it.

I don't know what Patrick feels
But since others are in extra/ the default PHP version in Slackware is 7.x
