I haven't been around for years, but I too started to get worried. I got in here because my gut feeling told me there would be such a thread here. Turns out I was right. Anyway, I'm glad to see that he's allright.

I never wonder if Patrick is OK or not (I know he is). But during these longer pauses between updates to the ChangeLog, I admit I find myself wondering if he's either playing with some technology completely alien to Slackware (no details here), or if he's just driving around the countryside in a Ford Mustang, wind in his hair, beer in one hand and the Grateful Dead at full blast.

Nah. Doesn't sound like as much fun.

You don't know and neither have a rightful claim to it, so what's the point ? Some effects of long-standing socialistic/fascist brainwashing after you believe Slackware to be some kind of a public good or a service you may demand ?

I do know kikinovak so I can say he is having a bit of fun here. Patrick has chimed in on this thread, and he says he's okay.
I'm looking forward to the storm that Eric mentioned earlier.

Just out of curiosity, what exactly haunts your apparently vivid imagination? That I just finished reading "Mein Kampf" and "Das Kapital" several times in a row and then decided to invade the Slackware forum while listening to Wagner?

I just had to think about how that would look like and now I can't get the image out of my head, thanks.

Anyways, please keep it civil guys, and keep in mind that humor sometimes can be hard to transport over a text-only medium.

Lilo cannot boot a Ford Mustang. It's definitely time to switch to Grub

Grub is no longer supported in Slackware, having been replaced by Grub2.

Heh, no wonder it's taking Pat so long.

It has been almost 6 weeks. What is holding up the critical security updates for Firefox and SeaMonkey?

Well according to Eric there is a lot of stuff coming. I suspect Patrick is testing stuff. I appreciate his thoroughness.

Really??!!
At this point it is way beyond so called, "thoroughness." Unless the entire distribution is being recompiled, for whatever reason, what could be holding up security updates for so long??!!
A rational explanation is long, Long, LONG overdue. And I don't mean the usual cop out, "when its ready."
