I thought the analogy was:
Slackers who oppose change = Apache, who were subdued by superior firepower, had their lands stolen, and driven into obscurity.
Nothing to do with the Coyote & Fire myth.

I accidentally clicked the 'yes' that your post was helpful. I meant to click it on the post above yours. You do not deserve the 'yes' vote from me as I too believe you overreacted greatly to gezley's post.

You can contact Jeremy privately and ask him to undo votes that you make by mistake.
Haha, look at all you plebs freaking out. Well let me tell you, I consider myself part of Slackware's Inner Circle, as I'm convinced that one of the voices in my head belongs to our beloved dictator-for-life Patrick. From what he's told me of the last few months, he hasn't been able to work on Slackware due to a simple mix up. See, he was doing some night hiking when he happened upon a UFO. Naturally he thought that Jehovah 1 had finally appeared before him to whisk him off to Pleasure Planet as a reward for his hard work on Slackware. But it turns out it was just the Heaven's Gate aliens, who due to a wrong turn at Polaris were running a bit late for a previous appointment. Both parties muddled up the situation and Patrick ended up on Venus for the past few weeks subsisting only on old Flavor-Aid. And let me tell you, all that Red Dye #5 and expired cyanide could give anyone the runs. Have you ever tried coding with your sphincter transformed into a sugary, semi-poisonous fire hose? Yeah, good luck.
So give him a few days to get his digestive tract back on track. I'm sure the Slackware update cycle will be back to it's bleeding-edge self in no time.
