Which version of the nvidia driver for which GPU?
The 550.67 production branch driver will build with the 6.8.x and and 6.9-rcx kernels.

Note, this is the LAST 6.7.y kernel to be released. This branch is now end-of-life. Please move to the 6.8.y branch at this point in time.

Spoke too soon. Looks like we have a "batch." Year 2024, Round 18

After installing today's -current updates the production driver no longer
installs with the 6.9-rc2 kernel. The process starts, but after a few seconds the computer reboots itself.

Scratch that.
Just booted to the 6.9-rc2 kernel and tried again. This time the
production driver installed and is running as it should.
With -current 6.6.23 kernel hibernating usually hangs here: the display stays on but the mouse pointer does not move. SysRq REISUB reboots. Sometimes it does seem to hibernate: the computer powers down and can be waked up and the previous display comes visible, but it is stuck then.
When I rebuilt 6.6.23 with the previous linux-6.6.22/kernel/workqueue.c, it seemed to be fixed. There were several commits made in workqueue.c...
Hibernation works now in 6.6.25: the updates below returned workqueue.c back to what it was in 6.6.22.
