rpmdrake not auto updating/installing packages?

ok I just installed Mandrake and thought it would be a good idea to make sure all packages were up to date. I ran rpmdrake and everything appears to have went smooth and it says that all packages were installed properly but when I manually check the version, I see that the newest version has not been installed as I thought??

Have they only been downloaded and not installed? If so, where is the default location?
or maybe there is something else I am missing?

1.2.8 is the latest version. That has been packed for the Mandrake9.2 distribution. If you want a newer version (1.2.9 right?) you will have to download and install it yourself. Or perhaps you can get it on cooker.
