Hold on because Mandrake 10.1 is coming out soon! Maybe they'll fix everything by then.

Not hardly, in my experience.
I installed Mdk 10.1 last night (took four attempts) and then my cordless Logitech optical mouse wouldn't work till finally I used a PS2 adapter to connect it--the wheel was either irrational or non-operational till then.
Then I found out that getting lm_sensors to work, which took 15-20 minutes max in 9.2, is seemingly impossible without a doctorate from MIT and days to spend on the project.
Next I found out that apcupsd monitoring, whcih was easily accomplished under 9.2, defies all my attempts to get it done--it's some kind of issue with the 2.6 kernel, I gather from web posts. Now I just hope I'm home when the next power outage hits, since under 10.1 the software won't be able to shut down my computer automatically.
Fonts look marginally worse than under 9.2; antialiasing is apparently not as clean.
I felt lucky to get my firewall going OK, and browser and email working. (I was really surprised they did, considering.)
But at this point if I didn't want it for email and the Web, I think I'd jettison my computer. I've just about had it with these "improvements" being steps backwards. And all my hours of hard work under the previous release for nothing.
Oh, and before I get chastised for not searching here for answers: I've spent many hours already doing so, and tried dozens of things and still can't get those features that were easy under 9.2 even to work under 10.1.
I may go back to 9.2, but I dread that, too, because AGAIN it means hours of getting things back together.
