The easy way : Install the other "Mandrake / Mandriva" OS : PCLinuxOS-2012.08,
which has Gnome 2.32 available in the repos. ( Default at OS install : KDE 4.)
PCLinuxOS comes as a live DVD. Easy to try out.

Or : Use the PCLinuxOS Gnome2 packages in Mageia.
The main packages are : gnome-desktop gnome-panel
( Those two packages will pull all dependencies.)
You will also want : nautilus gnome-editor gedit

updates http://ftp.heanet.ie/pub/pclinuxos/a.../RPMS.updates/
( No x86_64 PCLinuxOS.)

thanks nigelc and knudfl, actually i allready did installed xfce cause my machine is low in resources and it is running good, and knudfl i recently installed mageia after i tried several other distros, i didn't like the way ubuntu runs, even with gnome nor xfce, i liked how smooth mageia runs, i think its one of the more stable distros i have tried and i wish to keep using it, however i'll give a try to pclinuxos, but for the moment i'll apreciate your help telling me how can i posibly install the gnome 2.x packages from pclinuxos
