Lightbulb Kernal update to Red Hat 7.2

If I download a kernel update to my Mac and cut it to CD, will it upload to my Linux box?

verrrrry verrrrrrrry vague question (to me , at least.)
im assuming you cant get online from your linux m/c?

and im assuming that by "kernel update", you mean the kernel tarball from kernel.org or someplace? in that case, yes, sure, why not?

and by "upload", you mean ...

umm, forget it - my bad, i havent understood you yet.

Yup I'm still keeping my Linux box offline til I upgrade the Kernel. By upload I mean from the Mac burned CD to the Linux box. Looks like I can get the kernel off the Red Hat web site.

even more confused. are you trying to upgrade your kernel (like 2.4 to 2.6) or trying to upgrade redhat (redhat 8 to 9 or fedora or ...)?

NM I don't think it's a good way to fool around with the CD. I got everything I need to direct download it instead.
