Question Importing Thunderbird Mail from Windows to SuSE linux 9.3

Hello all,
I have dual boot with windows xp and Linux SuSE 9.3. I want to switch from windows to linux.
The problem is that my old mails are all in windows. I used Thunderbird in windows to import all the mail folders and address books from Microsoft Outlook. I then copied the Mail folder from "c:\Documents and Settings\.....\Application Data\Thunderbird\profile\u<<something>>\" to my linux profile folder that Thunderbird in linux was using but my mails did not appear.
Is it stupid thing I am doing, is there some other way of getting my mails in Linux, I would be so grateful to the kind sould giving me suggestions.
Please help me join the linux world.

Cheers!

Thumbs up Resolved!

Google has answers to everything...

There is a profile folder in windows:
c:\Documents and Settings\<<username>>\Application Data\Thunderbird\

In Linux,
put the contents of /home/<<username>>/.thunderbird/ into a new folder in the same location and name it "old".
Then copy the contents of the profile folder from windows to the above path in linux and voila!

It worked!

You are right, but be carefull. make sure you have write rights on the files you import. Otherwise you will only see the folders in thunderbird, not your emails. Found out after wrestling some time...
