Can't compile virtualbox modules

I have installed virtualbox, the precompiled version. When compiling the kernel modules I got this error:
Code:
Building the main VirtualBox module.
Error building the module:
make V=1 CONFIG_MODULE_SIG= -C /lib/modules/4.14.62-netlux/build SUBDIRS=/tmp/vbox.0 SRCROOT=/tmp/vbox.0 -j8 modules
make[1]: warning: -jN forced in submake: disabling jobserver mode.
mkdir -p /tmp/vbox.0/.tmp_versions ; rm -f /tmp/vbox.0/.tmp_versions/*
make -f ./scripts/Makefile.build obj=/tmp/vbox.0
make[2]: *** No rule to make target '/tmp/vbox.0/linux/SUPDrv-linux.o', needed by '/tmp/vbox.0/vboxdrv.o'. Stop.
make[1]: *** [Makefile:1523: _module_/tmp/vbox.0] Error 2
make: *** [/tmp/vbox.0/Makefile.include.footer:101: vboxdrv] Error 2
Does anyone know what's wrong? I'm running LFS-8.2, Linux-4.14.62.

I would try this approach:
1. In the kernel source, do a 'make clean'
2. Remove the vbox subdirs in /tmp
3. Put in the matching kernel .config for the kernel you are running when using vbox
4. Run 'make'
5. Run your vbox script rc.vboxdrv (wherever it lives) as root. The modules should be put in /lib/modules/version/misc/

Try that.

Do you have the kernel headers present on the host machine?

Thanks. I recompiled the kernel and saved everything in source. Now I could compile the modules for virtualbox. Usually I only keep the needed header files. I used to look at Arch and see what they keep, but they don't have a PKGBUILD for the same version of the kernel as I have. I'd prefer to only keep what's needed to make the package smaller, but I don't know how to find out what was missing.
