I haven't gotten to install it yet, I wonder if something is bugged considering I couldn't get it to boot.
What boot settings did you use and can you prompt me how to add in those boot settings?
The main struggle is getting it to boot on my laptop despite high specs.
Once it boots, I think I can figure out partitions, but just in case, may like some good help on that too.
I was an XFCE fan, but KDE on Sabayon looks SOOOO good!
When I started the installation I used the very first choice in the menu. I didn't use any specific boot settings at all as it went right to the install.
FWIW, there are only 3 distro's (Fedora, Slackware and Mint) that will install on my Sony laptop. All the others boot to a black screen no matter what I try.
If I'm not mistaken it's a Intel graphics issues that I have yet to solve.
Sorry, I am not good with Nvidia and I have zero experience running anything Gentoo based.
Reading the Gentoo documentation will probably help too.
Unfortunately, on some cards this doesnt work properly and you end up with a black screen. Adding the nomodeset parameter instructs the kernel to not load video drivers and use BIOS modes instead until X is loaded
Edit the kernel line with nomodeset at the end.
Once you are done editing that line I think you press the letter b to boot.
I still have the ISO, I would love to make it bootable.
That is what I was doing before sticking the ISO and burning it on my Sandisk 64gb usb drive.
Ok. Just use Rufus to make your usb drive bootable with Sabayon.
Once the usb drive is bootable than go into the BIOS under 'boot' and set your machine to boot to usb as the first choice in the boot menu. Save the changes, exit and your pc should boot right to the usb device. Sabayon should start booting up.
