What boot settings did you use and can you prompt me how to add in those boot settings?
The main struggle is getting it to boot on my laptop despite high specs.
Once it boots, I think I can figure out partitions, but just in case, may like some good help on that too.

I was an XFCE fan, but KDE on Sabayon looks SOOOO good!
When I started the installation I used the very first choice in the menu. I didn't use any specific boot settings at all as it went right to the install.

If it doesn't boot for you try text mode. If it still won't boot it's most likely a graphics issue.
You should read the installation instructions and boot information options it will help.

***IF you need nomodeset to get the install to boot here's how to do it:

FWIW, there are only 3 distro's (Fedora, Slackware and Mint) that will install on my Sony laptop. All the others boot to a black screen no matter what I try.
If I'm not mistaken it's a Intel graphics issues that I have yet to solve.

Sorry, I am not good with Nvidia and I have zero experience running anything Gentoo based.
Reading the Gentoo documentation will probably help too.

I agree, KDE looks great on Sabayon!

Unfortunately, on some cards this doesnt work properly and you end up with a black screen. Adding the nomodeset parameter instructs the kernel to not load video drivers and use BIOS modes instead until X is loaded
Edit the kernel line with nomodeset at the end.
Once you are done editing that line I think you press the letter b to boot.

Here's the Gentoo Handbook

This is going to sound stupid, but where would I place nomodeset in this coding?

Generally you would add it after after quiet splash but that kernel line is different. Iv'e never seen splash quiet before. Anyway...

Try placing nomodeset in between the words quiet and vconsole.

Like this:
linux /boot/sabayon overlayfs cdroot splash quiet nomodeset vconsole.Keymap=${bootkeymap} local\e=${bootlang} {modeset-opt} {acpi-opt} --

If that doesn't work try placing the word nomodeset at the end of the line. At the end of {acpi-opt} --

IS this what you get after you have already went through a full install?
Did you add nomodeset to the end of the kernel line?

This looks promising.

Black screen with blinking cursor, after a fresh install

Have you tried a DVD to install? Is the result the same?

If you continue to get what you posted in your YouTube video I think it might be time to go to the Sabayon Live Chat link in post #61.

Bummer:-

The DVD RW's are great to keep around.

You could if you wanted to make a flash drive bootable if you still have the .iso image. And boot up Sabayon that way.
Rufus should do it:-

I still have the ISO, I would love to make it bootable.
That is what I was doing before sticking the ISO and burning it on my Sandisk 64gb usb drive.

Ok. Just use Rufus to make your usb drive bootable with Sabayon.

Once the usb drive is bootable than go into the BIOS under 'boot' and set your machine to boot to usb as the first choice in the boot menu. Save the changes, exit and your pc should boot right to the usb device. Sabayon should start booting up.
