forgot username and password Linux Mint Cinnamon/Windows 7 professional

Hello friends,
This system has a dual installation of Linux Mint Cinnamon and Windows 7 Professional.
After a year of no use I forgot my username and password and have tried myriad possible combinations to no avail.
Please help me.
Thank you in advance.

It went like a champ. No hitch whatsoever. I am finally entering my Linux system. Thanks a lot. I will close this thread and open a new one to find out how to connect to the Internet provider. Thanks again and cheers.
