Does anybody have an idea how to fix ?
After some tests, I found how to make the fonts appears. Edit .transgaming/config, search for "Freetype"="Y". Change to ="N" and uncomment it. Then try again.
Anyway, on http://www.muonline.ro I can't connect. It sais: "You are disconnected from server", after clicking on the server to connect. Anyone has a clue? I tried to another server, same problem, also...
Anyway, for changing the resolution, you have to edit user.reg and place "Resolution"=dword:00000002 for 1024x768, under MU\Config section of the registry.
On windows:
Font problem - so little and unreadable -> when font smoothing is ON
Connect problem - when srv use other version of MU Online (u need other version of client, ak 96y, 98, 99...)
And there can be 'settings' in registry. So u mentioned user.reg ... there is win settings
---
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Webzen\Mu\Config]
"Resolution"=dword:00000000 // 0-640,1-800,2-1024,... (don't have pc 4 higher )
"MusicOnOff"=dword:00000000 // bg music - 4 some client versions u need to extra download
"SoundOnOff"=dword:00000000 // ...
"VolumeLevel"=dword:00000000 // i am not sure if this works
"ID"="muuser" // your muonline profile name, to prefill in logbox

I currently work for Mobius Online Games (hopefully you've seen our online ads), we are the official publishers of MU Online and GunBound for the Philippines. To make a long story short: Microsoft began a crackdown on unlicensed cafes last September 16. Needless to say there has been a lot of anxiety and fried nerves over here because of it. Cafes not able to purchase MS licenses have decided to close and avoid legal prosecution.
The gaming community is looking for a way to run online games on a linux solution.
I've been reading this thread and hear that some of you have been able to run MU Online on Cedega and Wine.
Our development team has been trying now for 7 days to find a way to get our games to run. Our version of MU online available at http://mobius.ph/downloads.php can't seem to install at all. We believe that our Game Guard version is the problem.
Could someone please try and help us with our problem and post a step by step solution. I have over 6,000 cafes supplying over 500K gamers waiting for an installation guide.
There are some issues running MU Online with wine/cedega.
With cedega 4.4.1 the game will run, but when you'll try to connect, it connects and disconnects ("You are disconnected from server"). I don't know how to fix it. The fonts can be fixed uncommenting "FreeType" = "N" line from config file.
With Wine (last version from http://www.winehq.org) the games runs. You CAN connect to the gameserver, BUT you have no fonts. I didn't found a way to make the fonts appears
Anyway, on my computer (Celeron 1.7, GeForce 4 MX440, 512M RAM), the game runs slightly slow (about 10%-15% slower than Windows) with Wine (last version). With Cedega 4.4.1 the difference (from the first screen) is about 5%, I think.
Wow we actuallty have MOBIUS personell working with us to try to get his thing running!!
I will definitly try harder to get this thing running correctly
any way when i start mu i can connect using the lates wine edition on a SuSe 9.1 system but after a bout 5 min it disconnecst me. first i thought it might be the game because of the frequent diconnects on Windows but it keeps d/cing every 5-7 min. it might be my firewall tho.. anyway im still working on the font issue. If we find way to run MU on linux is mobius going to host the game download on its site?
lol his name is Anthrax888
We would be willing to host a download site for a linux solution. However this may be limited only for the installers or sections that are necessary for our products to work.
Can you download our version of MU & GB? We've been trying for 7 days now to get it to run.
I'm telling you...you can convert most of the cafes in the Philippines to Linux practically overnight if we find the solution. I've been in the gaming industry for the past 4 years and I'm in touch with most of the cafe associations. They are all waitind for an installation guide for MU & GB
Hope you can help us!
P.S. It is kinda wierd to mail someone with the same handle.

Which MU version are you testing your platform on? If it's an unauthorized version it may simply be an item bug which is inherent in those versions. This happens when a MU Manager created item causes the user to be DC'd every 5 mins. Try dumping all your items to another account 1st to see if its game related or platform related.
I'm not sure what reg key it is, but I think to fix the fonts as before, you just need to change freetype fonts to be disabled in the registry, since that's what fixed it before. The only difference between changing the font setting in old wine and current wine is that all of the stuff that use to be in the config file (still exists with cedega) has moved into the registry where it belongs.
has any1 been trying with gunbound??
since so many pps r working on MU maybe sumbody ought to try gunbound. Any way its not an item bug because im tried starting a new acc. and still same thing... unless its the rings of warrior or fightr? but that doesn't seem to lily to me
