tired other links also, but still no luck.

i think i have to reinstall RHEL3. this is not a good solution but any way i have to do this.

if i get same result after reinstalling RHEL3, then i will wipe out my HDD and will go back to RHL 9. this is really bad experience with RHEL3.

My main intention to use RHEL3 as gateway for my windows client. but if RHEL3 itself no getting that much speed then how it will provide to other client in same LAN?

I havn't try with cable net, but wondering that if any one
using cable net with RHEL3, how much speed they getting?

REALLY BAD EXPERIENCE... back to RHL 9.

That's what i am thinking, every thing working like charm till yest. and today "xfree86" problem comes. you can check my other post.

I also use many other disctributions but about RHEL 3 this is first time i am getting thisr. even RHL 7.x,8,9 worked nicly.

IPforwarding doesn't increase internet speed. It 's only forwarding the net or open port [ on ip base to] for client. so client can access net thrugh gateway.

BUT, if you talk about only onc PC, let's take once pc with dailup or broandband connection what ever. Once you connect to net it should give web pages[surff the website]. but here it;s stuck whenever i try to connect.

There is NO point to think about IPFORWARDING.

but at some time, if I connect through windowsXP , it working nicly, i m writing this answer through windowsXP machine.

Out of world NOW????

anyway i think RHEL 3 fail to retrive webpages spacially with dailup connection.

IF YOU HAVE OR ANY ONE USING RHEL 3 WITH DIALUP CONNECTION. PLEASE TRY TO SURFF WEB PAGES AND LET ME KNOW THE RESULTS.

Thank you for your input .

whaty i was tryng to say is that , i have tried so many linux and when i did not find any difreence in IP forwarding there so why do we have this problem here

and how do u go about ipforwarding??
i do not edit the iptables script directly instread i use shorewall and it is as good as a windows machine and more better instead
