another RHEL 3 issue with xfree86

I have many issues with RHEL 3, this is one more issue

1st issue:

till yest. GUI working fine. today I boot the system and it;s stuck on console base login screen.

and after two minits it start showing following message and it;s stay there forever. i have sto press CTRL+C to get # prompt.

INIT: Id "3" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
INIT: Id "4" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
INIT: Id "5" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
INIT: Id "6" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes

2nd issue:

If i try to setup xfree86 again with redhat-config-xfree86 at console.

it showing ;

[root@dmain log]# redhat-config-xfree86
Couldn't start X server, trying with a fresh configuration
Trying with card: Intel 810
Error, cannot start X server.
[root@domain log]#

So, it means i can not restart xfree86 configure. [X server]

does any one have any idea? how to solve this issue and get GUI screen back.

This is really strange with RHEL3. I thought RHEL 3 is better then RHL 9 and also plan to set as server in my office.

please help , Or i have to reinstall RHEL 3 again.

hi there

if u haven't made any changes to your X server config file then

open up ur /etc/inittab file and edit ur runlevel to 3 form 5

then when u reboot, run startx at the prompt and if u fail to do so post the error u get

and post ur /etc/inittab file as well and xorg.conf
