breezy rt2500 wireless

Hi,

I recently installed kubuntu breezy, and my rt2500 wireless card does not work. I am on an Averatec 3700 laptop with an AMD Sempron 3000+ chip. When I was running Hoary, it did not detect the wireless card, but I got it working as wlan0 no sweat with ndiswrapper. In Breezy, the card is detected by default as ra0, but it doesn't detect any networks. It also doesn't work when I load ndiswrapper. Also, when I flip the wireless switch on the outside of my laptop to 'on,' the wireless indicator light is very faint, and in Windoze or Hoary it is at full brightness. Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi

Try this!

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...hreadid=373241

and in the hardware configuration installation screen chose the right driver. it should give a choice list.

Good luck!

The card is identified correctly as a rt2500, and a driver is installed, but it does not work correctly. I tried to unload the kernel module and then tried ndiswrapper, but that didn't work either. It keeps telling me that rt2500.inf is an invalid driver, though the same file worked with the same hardware under hoary. Here's my iwconfig output, by the way.

lo no wireless extensions.

eth0 no wireless extensions.

sit0 no wireless extensions.

ra0 RT2500 Wireless ESSID:""
Mode:Managed Frequency=2.412 GHz Bit Rate:1 Mb/s
RTS thrff Fragment thrff
Link Quality=0/100 Signal level=-120 dBm Noise level:-256 dBm
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0

In Hoary, the wireless card was listed as wlan0.
