Removing Unwanted Sound Driver
I am running SuSE 9.1 Pro and I have a Sound Blaster Audigy card which appears to work fine. When I first installed SuSE the boot screen (in verbose mode) said that a single sound driver was being installed at boot time. The message was:
Loading sound driver emu10k1
For a while I was also using a USB headset which I installed through YaST as a second sound card. When I did that the boot message changed to:
Loading sound driver emu10k1 emu10k1 usb-audio
I subsequently decided that I didn't want to use the USB headset and I deleted that sound card through YaST, but left the Sound Blaster Audigy card. All of this seemed to work fine except I still get all three sound drivers loaded at boot time and the boot message remains:
Loading sound driver emu10k1 emu10k1 usb-audio
Although things seem to work OK, how can I stop the second two sound drivers from being loaded at boot time? I looked in YaST but I don't see a setting there. I looked in some of the /etc/ files but couldn't find where this is stored. I want to get back to a single sound driver being loaded to support my SB Audigy card at boot time where the message is:
Loading sound driver emu10k1
Does anyone know how to do that without messing up my existing sound from the Sound Blaster Audigy card which seems to work fine? Thanks
