A little news about 4.18, due out this coming Thursday, and a little history of the Xfce project.

Is the backup profiles and panels working?
Here it always crashes after a few times when loading or saving a profile.
It is a python thing I think, can be called with 'xfce4-panel-profiles' in a terminal.

I have not problem. everything works fine so far.
Only problem I have is that most of profiles dont appears the application icon. https://imgur.com/Z4cI2DG.png

But everything else working perfect!

May I ask how you build your XFCE? I used the scripts from Slackware/source/xfce with some edit that needed only for tar.bz2 files nothing else. I builded all packages even those that are not updated so far for new xfce and upgradepkg --install-new --reinstall every package that was created.
the build order i used was this
Code:
#Greybird
#elementary-xfce
#libxfce4util
#exo
#garcon
#libxfce4ui
#mousepad
#thunar
#thunar-volman
#tumbler
#xfce4-appfinder
#xfce4-clipman-plugin
#xfce4-dev-tools
#xfce4-notifyd
#xfce4-panel
#xfce4-panel-profiles
#xfce4-power-manager
#xfce4-pulseaudio-plugin
#xfce4-screensaver
#xfce4-screenshooter
#xfce4-session
#xfce4-settings
#xfce4-systemload-plugin
#xfce4-taskmanager
#xfce4-terminal
#xfce4-weather-plugin
#xfce4-whiskermenu-plugin
#xfconf
#xfdesktop
#xfwm4
because:
Code:
exo = need installed: libxfce4util-1.0 >= 4.17.2
Thunar = need installed: exo-2 >= 4.17.0,libxfce4ui-2 >= 4.17.6
xfce4-panel = need installed:  garcon-1 >= 4.17.0

Yes, the "Panel Profiles" from your screenshot, it always crashes after a few times.
I couldn't identify where that missing icon is.
Maybe if you try another icon set it will appear properly.

I didn't build. I'm running the stock Xfce.
That crash happens in both 15.0 and -current fresh install.

Just built 4.18 in a 15.0 VM to give it a test drive. So far so good.
