X uses the wrong Keyboard setting(s)

Hello,

After i have reconfigured my X setup in Slackware 13.0 i have wrong keyboard settings. I get the standard us keyboard instead of german layout. I checked /var/log/Xorg.0.log and found this:

(WW) AllowEmptyInput is on, devices using drivers 'kbd', 'mouse' or 'vmmouse' will be disabled.
(WW) Disabling Mouse1
(WW) Disabling Keyboard1
.......
(II) config/hal: Adding input device AT Translated Set 2 keyboard
(**) AT Translated Set 2 keyboard: always reports core events
(**) AT Translated Set 2 keyboard: Device: "/dev/input/event1"
(II) AT Translated Set 2 keyboard: Found keys
(II) AT Translated Set 2 keyboard: Configuring as keyboard
(II) XINPUT: Adding extended input device "AT Translated Set 2 keyboard" (type: KEYBOARD)
(**) Option "xkb_rules" "evdev"
(**) Option "xkb_model" "evdev"
(**) Option "xkb_layout" "us"
(**) Option "xkb_options" "terminate:ctrl_alt_bksp"

After that i checked if hald is running correctly - which does.
I exited X and restarted hald and X but still get the wrong keyboard.

I only changed some modes for the monitor in the config file for X but didn't toucht mouse/keyboard settings.

Thanks for any hints.

Here's a tutorial. You need to copy/edit one HAL policy.
http://blog.tpa.me.uk/2009/08/30/sla...13-0-xorg-hal/

Also you could add:
setxkbmap de

to your ~/.xinitrc

I have had the exact same problem with a gb keyboard. The fdi file worked fine in 13.0. The only way I can get gb keyboard now is via xorg.conf.
