gotcha. Yeah, especially with Cyberpunk out, they generally push new drivers for that. (Not that it's a Linux game, but they've been better for fixing driver issues with Proton/WINE games lately.)

5.10.1 running ok, NVidia 455.45.01 and vhba driver (to mount iso as virtual cd/dvd) built ok, VirtualBox needs the test version I think.
Code:
uname -a
Linux paulo.bfw 5.10.1 #1 SMP Mon Dec 14 19:11:55 -03 2020 x86_64 AMD FX-8320E Eight-Core Processor AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux

As of the moment (see time stamp) the "test" (6.1.x revision 141725) and "development snapshots" (revision 141743) of VirtualBox will not work with the 5.10.y kernel. Oh, they will install, with an error, and the panel will come up, but your virtual "machines" will not run.

https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Testbuilds

Hopefully, that will change in the very near future.

Thanks for the info, I can't run a kernel without a stable VBox version for it.

5.10.1 seems to run ok. I don't run any raid array so all file systems here (ext4 and ntfs) are ok.

I gave up VirtualBox for Qemu, and now I can't run VMs with 5.10.x. Maybe I should try a different hobby. ;-) Nah, I'll just stick with 5.9.x until they help me figure out the problem.

Oh, I *did* file a bug report, finally.

The 5.10.y series has been added to the list of Long Term Service kernels.

As of the moment, the most recent VirtualBox Development Snapshot revision 141925, will work with the 5.10.1 kernel.

Hopefully they will release a stable version for kernel 5.10 soon.

It's always announced with a 2 year LTS support and then they usually extend it to 6 years about a year into the LTS cycle.

Who cares, when in no more than one year it will become another ancient technology...

Running Current-Vtown with 5.10.1 custom kernel with nvidia 460.27.04 Beta driver on GTX 1070 Ti as of today. All good so far.

BTW, untarred 5.10.1 is almost 3 Gigs. Customizing took forever. Some day some enterprising soul may create a database of motherboards that will "sed out" all the kernel options that have zero relevancy. I'd pay for that.

I'm still poking at that other kernel, but it shouldn't take too much longer.

FWIW, today a new Development Snapshot, revision 141935, is available and it will also work with the new 5.10.1 kernel. Test build, revision 141928, will not.
