startx problems

Hello all I've finally got a gui for my slack box, I've tried flux and xce, but when I tried to start x today, I boot straight to console, I go a response stating command not found same thing with xorgconfig and xorgsetup. But when I switch to a other console (alt-f2) the commands work for a little bit but eventually the same problem happens. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You

that is a very confusing question...
the command is startx (all one word).
Or you can init 4, to get into gui default runmode.
What are the exact errors that you are getting? What is the output of tail /var/log/Xorg.log (Xorg.log might be names something else... I'm not connected to a slack box with x installed...).
what Window manager are you using?
More information = better answers.

My problam is that commands that I was able to run yesterday are not running today. For example startx and xorgconfig, even the config files I get from xorgconfig are not there.

Also to clerify when I run startx the reponse I get is that the command is not found although it worked fine yesterday. Sorry for the confusion and thank you for the reponse.

What have you changed since yesterday? Removed any packages? Changed your path? run any thing new?
do slocate startx to see if the file still exists and then try echo $PATH to see if you have changed your path.
You need to figure out what precipitated this change, that will give you more clues as to how to fix it.
