I'm asking about the management of the Linode configuration (number of servers, hardware config), rather the OS.

I do also.

It’s kind of a small image which means eMacs for example won’t run on it.

So I usually just download the .iso file / or download the source files and install everything so I know that all the dependencies is in place.

I update my system manually by downloading the files and install instead of slackpkg but that is just my preferences.

So yes Slackware works fine on Linode
