# NOTICE OF INPENDING EOL (END OF LIFE) FOR OLD SLACKWARE VERSIONS #
# #
# Effective January 1, 2024, security patches will no longer be #
# provided for the following versions of Slackware (which will all #
# be more than 7 years old at that time): #
# Slackware 14.0, Slackware 14.1, Slackware 14.2. #
# If you are still running these versions you should consider #
# migrating to a newer version (preferably as recent as possible). #
# Alternately, you may make arrangements to handle your own #
# security patches. #

Fixed!
Though the few times system has been upgraded, I've kept the old disc as backup and inserted a new install disc...
This is the plan. A 240Gb SSD is on order. Much cheaper than the 100Gb was in 2018.
(I also sync the ~/home drive to an external USB hard drive each day - so not a full incremental backup. Might look at incremental backups when new system is installed).

It sounds like a cautious attempt, to tell 15.0 becomes old stable as well.
Already, I have run into a piece of software which complains about the 2.33 version of glibc in Slackware 15.0... When I finish some more pressing chores, then I have to decide whether to wait for v15.1 or to do some compiling.

Where exactly did you get this information? I can find nothing about EOL for 14.2 anywhere on Slackware's website or Security Announcements. What is the source of this statement above, please?
