Synaptic froze or what?
Hi,
this will be a quick question. I am currently trying to update my redhat 9 to fedora throught apt && syanptic. I have downloaded all the packages (900meg, it took me nearly one and a half day!). However some packages have failed to download, probably due to some connection issues. I have checked what they were. They are not pivotal system rpms.
Today when I got back from school synaptic warned me that some rpms couldn't be downloaded, and whether it should continue with the install. I said yes, and I pop-up box entitled "Performing changes" popped up. There are two progess bars that keep moving, and on the top there is a label saying:
Executing RPM (-e)
the -e extension is used to uninstall packages right? Until now everything sound perfectly coherent. However it s been aroud eight hours, and it still reads the same. Either this app is uninstalling every single package on my system, or there is a problem. The bars are still moving in the progress bars though, so it mustn't have frozen.
Is there a way to tell what this program is doing right now??
Should I simply kill it, or leave it open for the night to see what changed in the morning??
Thanks a lot for your help
