cch2cch LQ Newbie Registered: Dec 2004 Distribution: Fedora 3 Posts: 25 Rep:	realplayer default device What is the default audio device for rp10? Trying to play a mp3 file would crash my Redhat8 ( the file plays on XMMS). Setting the device to /dev/dsp1 ( export AUDIO=/dev/dsp1) it reports a "cannot open device, other applications may be using it" error. /dev/dsp1 is owned by root:root and has rw privileges for all. fuser /dev/dsp1 does not show any process using it.
