ATA/100 Hard Drive

I never have really found answer to this question that would work on my system. Ok.. here's my setup. I am running RedHat 7.0 and I have a regular IDE that is 10 GB total.. 2 for Winblows and the other 8 for Linux. So I have the dual boot. I also have a 40 GB ATA/100 Hard drive that is attached to a Promise Ultra100 ATA PCI Card. Does anyone have any idea how I can use this hard drive in Linux? Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks.

I don't use Redhat, by if I remember well, you got a kernel 2.3.x
The Promise controlers are recognized, but not functionning as the kernel didn't keep the addresses (Bug, correct in kernel 2.4.x).

You get two solutions then :

* compile a new 2.4.x kernel enabling external IDE controlers,

* use this mini-howto . It helped me a lot with Mandrake 7.2
