HP Omnibook 6000 Hard drive interface: ATA-100 or ATA-6?

My HP Omnibook 6000's hard drive failed recently, and I am trying to replace the hard drive. HP hasn't been at all helpful (I phoned and emailed them) in finding the information I need. What I need to know is what hard drive interface the failed drive was using, so I can be sure to replace it with one using the correct interface for my system. Is there some way I can find this out? Without taking the drive out? If I take the drive out will it's interface type be written on it?

Thanks much,

Jeremy Davis Pedersen

I have a 6000 here. You should be able to use ATA5 or ATA100 without any problems... standard UDMA2 stuffs.

While I'm thinking of it, do you think ATA-6 would work? I assume so, but I need to double check.

Thanks much,
