sendmail unresolved domain issue

ok, here's an annoyance. a while back i had huge DNS problems. those have been taken care of finally. now we're onto sendmail. i rebuilt it last night and it sends and receives great but now i checked my maillog and then saw this in my root mailbox:

Unresolved sender domains:
scot@bake-sale.net: 89 Times(s)

Nov 30 11:16:37 whoisrory sendmail[7261]: hAUHGbYX007261: from=<scot@bake-sale.net>, size=611, class=0, nrcpts=0, proto=ESMTP, daemon=MTA, relay=IDENT:nUvdrcdKR2mtRy9q8/uOZDW+dGb4dJdt@localhost.localdomain [127.0.0.1]
bash-2.05b#

the account above is primary group 'X' but email it sends out goes out from group 'Y' with a differnet domain attached.

should i switch these groups or am i WAY off track?
