I could really use some help or to be pointed where I could get some help.

I just bought a 801.11g wireless card. I was under the impression that if I connect to a network that I would be able to connect to the internet. It shows that I am connected but explorer cannot find the server. I have an internet account with Juno. Do I have to have an account with a dsl isp? I am currently connected at 30% is this enough to even work? This wireless stuff is new to me. Please help.
