I just Installed VectorLinux 4 (non-SOHO) on a 466 MHz e-Machine 256 MB RAM 6 GB HD... I'm running IceWM.... It's running alright.. It sure is a mini distro... I'll probably actually install Debian overtop of it... I'm looking for something that will be fast on a linited hardware machine such as this.. to do nothing more than run a stand-alone flash kiosk application... hence: I need nothing more than IceWM and a stand-alone flash player... NOT A MOZILLA PLUGIN.... Is there a standalone for Vector?? I know there is one in RPM format.. but I don't think vector support rpms right? what to do...?
- This installer is script-based and cannot be run from a GUI.
- Uncompress install_flash_player_6_linux_sa.tar.gz. A directory called install_flash_player_6_linux_sa is created. Navigate to this directory.
- From the command line, type ./flashplayer-installer to run the installer. For root users, gflashplayer will be copied to /usr/bin. For non-root users, it will be copied to a folder named bin in your home directory.
Just google on standalone+flashplayer+linux and the first site should be a macromedia
page where you can download a tar.gz with a gtk binary. This should work on Vector .
