But before we continue please answer my question first:

Is your system up-to-date?

As I said earlier, initially my Ubuntu 9.10 was unhandlable, e.g. if I was downloading a file the system started to freeze. But it got better with every update!
This 'log-out' problem you mentioned might be related to an insufficiently updated system.

If you are not updated I strongly recommend to do that first and see if it gets better.

I think it is a normal logout because i can login again ,but how could it logout without me cliking on logout??
It happened twice as of now .

Actually my system is used by the whole family and to stop people watchin from explicit content i need to use a proper content filtering software which shud be easy to use..

So I tot of giving a try to Dans Gaurdian with a small script taking help from the site howtoforge.com

But Dans Gaurdian stops everything even the a site which starts which letter p and puts it under proxies. Its stopped me from accessing Yahoo, gnome-looks and some other religious sites.

I need a good one Thru which i can configure easily and makes changes if wanted even if it from the terminal

This is strange. What were you doing when it happened? Are several users logged in simultaneously?
I never encountered such a problem.

Here are some alternatives listed:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ContentInternetFiltering

I haven't tried them though. So I cannot tell you if they are suitable or not.

Another interesting approach is to filter through
http://www.opendns.com/

Keep in mind that opendns is 'just' another DNS-server, i.e. it simply translates webdomain-addresses into IP addresses. So if you enter the IP-adress in numerical format (e.g. 200.159.xx.xx) it will not be blocked. So this is only an option if your kids are not too much into computer stuff.

Or are you using a swap-file that is being created as needed?
It looked to me like the upgrade had edited me fstab using an UUID to identify the swap. It looked all OK to me 0 - I simply edited it to point to the swap partition /dev/sdc rather than the UUID and reconfigured the swap as previously posted.

I think your right and the OP may need more swap space.
