Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS. HPLIP for HP 6055e, does not work consistent. Suggestions to print/scan
The printer hp 6055e is new. I tried to install HPLIP from the website, answered all the questions, seemed to finish, but after restarting my system, using hp-setup, it was a no-go. I would be happy with the basic print and scan capabilities. At this point, i have tried to uninstall everything relating HPLIP. Any one has a step-by-step on this? Please share.
You might have a look in /var/log/cups, particularly the error.log. If you find something that appears relevant, post it here, being sure to surround it with "code" tags, which become available when you click the "Go Advanced" button beneath the compose/edit post button.
Also, since you say this is a new printer, you might check the HPLIP website to see whether it is supported at this time. Sometimes there may be a lag before new hardware gets supported.
Your post is vague as to what the problem is so it isn't really possible to get serious help without more information. You say it is 'inconsistent' but don't explain. Does it sometimes print and other times not or does it sometimes not start when turned on or is the printing not showing properly on the page, etc.
You would also have to be more specific as to what 'no-go' means in reference to hp-setup. Did it not start at all? Did it start and show warning/error messages. More details.
