These repos are no longer up.

Are you really using Hoary? It's over a year old.

You best bet would be to install at least Breezy, because Hoary is outdated by now. You can download the .iso here

You will then have some working repositories.

I have breezy.

I was just trying to add xtra repo's.

now hoary is in my apt source.list and I keep getting the crap above when using 'terminal' AND 'synaptic'!

Another problem is installing limewire.

everything goes just fine. I refresh the panel and Limewire never shows up under Applications>internet>limewire

Oh...

and how do I delete the hoary addresses in the source.list file? I try to highlite and hit the delete key but it will not let me.

You need to delete every instance of hoary from your /etc/apt/sources.list.

Code:
gksudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list
You will be prompted for your user password.

Delete all Hoary repositories, save the file and close gedit.

Code:
sudo apt-get update
to refresh your sources.list

Alternatively you could go here:

http://www.ubuntulinux.nl/source-o-matic

You can create you own sources.list automagically.
