X cursor themes

Been scouring the net for a while now, and not finding what I'm looking for.

Has anybody yet figured out how to change the cursor themes under the new XFree86 version? I know it can be done, and I'm running Dropline Gnome, which comes with a cool looking translucent cursor with a nice drop shadow. So, how do I get an even cooler one?

I found some stuff for other distros, but nothing about Slack. I know, most slackers aren't exactly concerned with eye candy, but I kinda am. I like to have my work environment look cool.

So, anybosy else been fiddling with X and figured this one out?

i dont promise this will work with slackware but i think its xfree 4.3 thats in charge here and not the the specific distro....

make the directory ~/.icons
download some cursor themes from somewhere like kdelook.org and put the contents in there. you'll end up with directories with the cursor names (usually just, blue, silver, etc.) and a directory called default.
in your default directory you need the file index.theme which contains :

[Icon Theme]
Inherits=Blue

where "blue" is substituted for the directory name of the cursor set you want to use. most cursor themes include a readme that explains this also i think.
