[Mouse cursor] flicking on animated cursor

Hi!

I use Gnome for Desktop Environement and Debian install lots of stuff with it, including eye-candy mouse cursor. But on my computer, the animated cursors (like the waiting one) is pretty ugly because it flicks... When I looked closer, I realize that it's the transition between every cursor images that is wrong: instead of replacing the cursor directly, it erases it and then display the new cursor, but this is done very quickly so that it gives a weird render on the screen.

Does someone has the same problem?

I've got an AMD 64 3500+ with a nVidia PCI-E 6600 and, of course, the nvidia driver.
Everything is running under a Debian GNU/Linux (testing-i386)

Regards,
Creak

I haven't used Gnome for some time but, as far as I can remember, there was some Gnome utility to set the mouse cursor theme. Debian has also its own way of setting the cursor theme but I'm not sure if it will work well with Gnome. Anyway, if you'd like to experiment with this Debian utility, "su" to root in gnome-terminal and do "update-alternatives --config x-cursor-theme". Personally, I used the animated cursors for some time but then I settled to the core.theme because it's simple and it "just works".
