can't access http://localhost:631 (for cups printing)

how do i access http://localhost:631

when i try in mozilla, it tells me it can't access www.google.com
when i try in konqueror, i get an error, probably because port 631 is blocked

if it is blocked, how do i unblock it?

when i tried to run ./rc.cups in the /etc/rc.d directory, there is a permission denied, so should i change permissions?

In order to run rc.cups, you have to make it executable first:
Code:
chmod o+x rc.cups

Not sure if the port blocked message is legit. Once the cups daemon is running (cupsd), you should be able to type in localhost:631 in any web browser and get to printer administration. Probably you should try it as root first.
Check that cupsd is running by doing a 'ps -aux' command from a console and look to see that it's in the process list.
