CUPS http://localhost:631/

When I go to http://localhost:631/ in Firefox to make changes to my printer settings in CUPS, CUPS asks me for a username and password, and if I use root and my root password, it doesn't say the password is wrong, but just continues to keep asking me for a username and password over and over again, and never gives me access to changing any of my printer settings. I tried recompiling CUPS with the newest stable version and installing it, but it didn't fix the problem. Does anyone know what causes this problem?

No, but make sure that your root password is correct

Root is definately the user you need though.
