I've downloaded your LazYPuppy 2.0.2 and burned it to a CD. I would like to know if it's possible to make screenshots with it so that I can send you pictures of what I am seeing...
So far, despite the different placement of icons (as opposed to Lucid Puppy), I have managed to see my WD Elements 2TB HD but when I try to mount it, I am getting the identical NTFS Warning that prevents Lucid Puppy from working with it. That warning is
NTFS WARNING
The ntfs-3g driver was unable to mount the NTFS partition and returned this error message:
Failed to write lock 'dev/sdb1' : Resource temporarily unavailable
Error opening 'dev/sdb1' : Resource is temporarily unavailable
Failed to mount 'dev/sdb1' : Resource is temporarily unavailable
So, the inbuilt kernel NTFS has been used to mount the partition read-only

First of all, I wish to thank all the members who have offered suggestions and help so far, i.e. Mike Walsh, ehartman, yancek, RSH.
But since the problem of connecting to my external 2TB drive is still not resolved, I do hope that there may be others who will come to the rescue and be able to determine why Lucid Puppy with its ntfs-3g driver is unable to connect to the 2 TB drive.

Looking forward to further posts....

Is there any reason why to stick with Lucid Puppy instead of just to give a newer Puppy version a try?
At least you could find out that way if it would work with another Puppy or if Windows probably did something with the 2TB drive...
Just curious.
Edit:
Btw.: I have a tested a 3TB USB HD drive formatted to ext. This drive is not recognized in my LazY Puppy 2.0.2, so it will also not be recognized by Lucid Puppy.

I have to answer that sticking with Lucid Puppy may well be because of having some familiarity with its interface. Another reason is that there are so many other Puppies out there, the choice is almost mind-boggling.
I would greatly appreciate some appropriate Puppies that you are aware of for giving the problem another handle in helping to solve the problem of not recognizing a 2TB external HD.
Many thanks for your continuing assistance and concern.
I understand your wanting to stay with an interface you've become comfortable with. To be fair, though, newer Pups, although using newer versions of GTK/different sets of icons/new utilities for managing all these, still have the same basic layout. That's dictated by Woof-CE, the GitHub-hosted Puppy 'official' build-system.
Re; RSH's links. I've used all three of the above; they're all good Pups. Bear in mind, however, that Lucid went EOL over 5 years ago. Precise went EOL more than 2 years back, Tahr has just gone EOL.....and Xenial is already nearly half-way through its support period. I'm not talking so much about support for the Pups themselves (we all know Puppies are timeless!!), as about the software available for them to run.....primarily browsers, which do need to be up-to-date.
Moving up to a newer Pup never hurts; it's where more of the bug-hunting/development work is still going on. Rerwin, who's been maintaining the Lucid thread on the Puppy Forums, started advising everyone several months ago that he was winding down the Lucid thread, and will soon be closing it altogether. It's just too old to run modern, network-critical applications any longer, because it's getting harder and harder to make things work.

Many thanks for your rather clear update on Puppies in general and specifically for those which RSH has suggested. At this particular point in time, I'm using the Puppy interface to simply move various files and folders off a Windows machine to an external HD so that I can properly repair the faulty Windows by formatting the drive its on and re-installing the version that I prefer.
It may well be that I'll appreciate what Puppy has been able to do so much that I'll review my priorities once I get to backup the files and folders that I am in need of and which Windows is unable to move for me....
It's very comforting to have such a group of knowledgeable helpers on call at LinuxQuestions.org and I greatly appreciate everyone's input as I am definitely not yet very knowledgeable with Linux in general. It's amazing that even hi-tech is controlled by entropy, something that many scientists are still unable to see right under their noses!
I just added L.A.S.S.I.E. as I could not find the original Precise 5.7.1 topic on the murga forum.
Probably Mike's able to find it?
Btw: @Mike, Puppy murga-forum has reached it's millionth article a few days ago(I guess this means, topic but not post?) and nobody recognized, mentioned and/or just announced it?
Makes finding stuff on Murga-linux a piece of cake. Just enter Precise 5.7.1.....you'll find the forum article within the first few entries, along with the Wikka and various other Precise-related articles. Watchdog put me onto it. It's VERY useful.
Hope that helps!
Mike.
