I wonder. Is it specifically the Puppy Linux forum that's been attacked.....or was the cloud host the "target"....and a whole slew of sites got caught in the crossfire?

*Sheesh*

Mike.

Bad news. Looks like the Puppy Forum in its present format is now history. It's been completely destroyed by DDOS, and the forum a/c has been kicked off iFastnet's main server.

It's not looking good. It may be months before the community's re-united again.

DDOS

You can't stop DDOS attacks from your server. You have direct your traffic to someone with a big enough pipe to eat the DDOS traffic, and forward legitimate traffic. Cloudflare is a common choice

Unfamiliar with CloudFlare myself, but if their DDoS protection is indeed free !!!

Cloudflare’s 121 Tbps network blocks an average of 86 billion threats per day, including some of the largest DDoS attacks in history.

Emergency Forum made

I made an potential Emergency Forum on a free site. It is limited (only 200mb storage), so no attachments (urls ok) and no frequent or massive diatribes would be allowed. Meanwhile, the weedoglinux link in post #17 above is working.
EDIT: Main Forum restored and has good backup/restore system, so my making a forum was an interesting exercise for me but not needed now.

A Host change is underway & there is life at main Puppy site. Will be completed over next few days.
