All about wine for puppy linux 4.1.2

Hello everyone!
I want to use quickbooks accounting software(by intuit) in puppy. Please help me on how to install using wine. Where can I download wine. Is wine supports puppy 4.1.2 or rather puppy 4.1.2 supports wine. How does this work? Thank you.

Puppy is supposed to be a "small lightweight weight" O/S.

you may be better off, using another Lnx O/S that has inbuilt Wine support.
( one if the Debian variations, maybe ).

Look to following page:

http://puppylover.netsons.org/dokupuppy/programs:wine
there are pups and pets to install wine.
I did it last time about 2 years ago with Puppy 2.12 but there not many Programs were running in Wine.
But now Puppy is newer and Wine as well

I see that the most recent pets for WINE on this page are hosted by ziddu.com. The site's "about us" page tells me nothing.

Downloading from it is a PIA. It seems you can't use pwget, there are popups, the download with Seamonkey is very slow (and no resume) and weird things are happening. A minute ago the download showed almost the full download of 14MB, and now it's back to 10MB!

Then, after some 10-15 minutes of downloading, it finished with the message :
"Wine...pet could not be saved because an unknown error occurred. Try saving to a different location."

I checked my download path, and there are some 77GB of space available for this 13MB file.

Is this program even safe to download, let alone to install?

No md5sum is provided, and I have no idea who wrote this pet. And the alternative download link is dead.

Has anyone here actually tried Wine-1.1.24...pet?

PS. After posting the above, I went back to ziddu.com and tried the download again. It took 35 minutes to download the 14MB file, and this time it saved, although the path and the method of downloading was exactly the same as on the previous failed attempt - go figure! Total time spent(including all failed attempts) downloading this program that I don't feel comfortable running - about 90 minutes.

If those are the same packages that someone was maintaining on the main forum I think they should be perfectly safe (of course with the usual free software disclaimers)... but we obviously can't check with the forum down.

FWIW I never had problems downloading the packages on the forum that I'm referring to.

I just went back to look over all the wine pets listed at the URL above. It turns out the list is a bit misleading. If you go by the version numbers listed, and click on the download links, everything past Wine 1.1.7 is hosted only on ziddu.com.

But in reality, if you go to the murga-linux discussion thread listed by 1.1.7, and scroll to page 9, you find that there are THREE different pet packages linked there for Wine 1.1.24!

So now the problem is, what's the difference, and which should you use?
