How do you Compile a program?

well, that depends on what programming lanuage you are using, which operating system you are using and a billion other things.

but i guess you just want to know what gcc or g++ are called.

they're called "gcc" or "g++"

try "man gcc" or "man g++"

I downloaded a bunch of files from mplayerhq.hu. In order for the program to work they need to be compiled together. I am using Slackware 8 and am not sure how you would compile them together.
