Shutdown problems

Hello!

When I try to shutdown my computers, everything goes fine but the computer doesn't turn off and I must do it manually. Anybody can help me???

Sounds like a problem with your power management settings (ACPI and APM).

Depending on which version of Mandrake you are running, I'd first check that your ACPI services are running from the Mandrake Control Centre (MCC). Also check your LILO or GRUB settings in the MCC under the boot section and make sure ACPI and APM settings are correct.

Quick fix, go into LILO boot loader configuration and check "enable acpi", then proceed to check "no apic" and "no local apic"

Or just append "acpi=on nolapic" to the boot command.
