Logitech Cordless mouse not working properly

Just to mention from the begining, it is my first linux installation ...

and of course some very simple question for you probably...

I've just installed a Mandrake version and couldn't find a suitable mouse type to chose. I have a Logitech Cordless Elite mouse and keyboard.

The keyboard is working just fine. Don't need any extra keys ... for now.

As funny as it sound, when I chose USB wheel mouse type, when I was testing it during the inastallation, on my mouse movements it was showing me the wheel moving, and some cursor moves, but totaly wrong ones ...

Any help, anybody for a

Thanks a million.

Try running the mouse config again. It's possible that something got a little messed up. You can run it from the command line as root. Just type mousedrake

Unhappy

Well, somthing got really messed up...

I've found the mousedrake and the sysconfig/mouse but I can't get it moving at all now.
In the installation process, at least I had "some" movement. Now there is none. I've tried reconnecting the mouse to its device but still nothing.

Anything I choose it doesn't seem to do any good.

What am I doing wrong ?

But in a way it was, Linux wanted it on the PS/2 connector and once you satisfied it, it satisfied you.

Linux = Free, only costs your time.
Windows = $99 and up plus countless MS beaurocratic bombardment.
Having a stable Linux machine that doesn't need proprietary activation = priceless.
