MandrakeMove is based on Mandrake 9.2. Drivers and such things are the same.

so far mandrake isnt that great. first off i have no sound there is no "AUmix" just this garbage called Kmix which shows up as nothing just a grey box no sliders or anything. and i got this mysterious /mnt/camera thing on my desktop that came up when i opened GTKam, and it wont let me delete it. i need sound but i dont know how to get it and plus i want to delete that camera thing since my digicam isnt even supported by GTKam

Give it a chance. Most people I know who moved from any version of windows to any other version said the same thing... or for that matter PC to Mac, etc, etc. Familiarity breeds confidence, it'll come!

first off i have no sound there is no "AUmix" just this garbage called Kmix which shows up as nothing just a grey box no sliders or anything.

This one I can't diagnose. If it isn't showing any sliders or anything, then obviously there is something amiss. Try using package manager to remove Kmix and re-install, or for that matter, just install aumix.

and i got this mysterious /mnt/camera thing on my desktop that came up when i opened GTKam, and it wont let me delete it. i need sound but i dont know how to get it and plus i want to delete that camera thing since my digicam isnt even supported by GTKam

The newest version of gphoto is 2.1.4. If you aren't running the latest one, check if they have your camera supported now at http://www.gphoto.org/proj/libgphoto2/support.php.

If you are using KDE, to get the icon off your desktop in any event, right-click and go to configure desktop, and behaviours. In the bottom portion simply uncheck the devices you don't want to show, (or alternately, uncheck *everything* and then only check what you know you want).

Good luck!

I still can't delete the GTKam icons (and I got two of them). Configuring desktop won't help.
In fact, the icons are invisible in other browsers or shells. They are only visible in KDE and I don't know how to get rid of them. pls, any comments?
