Angry Installation problem with 9.1

Hello:

I installed Mandrake 9.1 on a PII comp. I installed all the scientific, office, enterteinment, ...the works. But I dont think they got installed. DRAKE never requested any of the other 2 CD's...it installed everything with the first CD and finnished. When I started linux with KDE 3.1 GUI, none of the Office, Games, or scientific aplications were in the START menu. I tried runing software install with package manager, but it didn't have any of the programs listed in the 'available' category.

Is this a problem with installation program? Or with the start menu?

I tried re-installing the software but I dont get any differences. I tried installing some of the applications on CD's 2 and 3 by running the rpm's, but this is a little complicated. Can I run some program that will allowme to install software like acrobat, lyx, etc.

Any help would be useful

Hello this what you have to do:

- Run "Mandrake Control Center"
- Enter your root password when required
- Click on "software management"
- Click on "install package"

Don't know if the names I give are correct since I'm a French user of Mandrake

Hello:
I ran "Mandrake Control Center: Intall packages", but none of the packages in CDs 2 or 3 were showing up. I finnally fixed it...but I'm going to reply so it may be useful for others. The names of the menues might be a little different because I run 9.1 in spanish...but here goes.

1. In "Software Management" I had to go to "Source Selection" and had to include both Installation CD 2 and 3.

2. I included them as removable media with address:

/mnt/cdrom/Mandrake/RPMS2 and RPMS3 respectively for CD's 2 and 3.

3. The relative hd list are:

../base/hdlist2.cz for cd2 and ../base/hdlist3.cz for cd 3. ONce I added both cds, keeping Installation CD1 on my cdrom drive, I was able to detect all the packages and install them. I think this might be a glitch of Mandrake 9.1, when you install it in other languanges.

I installed the packages and all is well.

thanks
