how big did you set your /boot partition and your swap partition. I tend to reinstall Linux on my system about once a month just for shits and giggles. I have a 20GB HDD with 256MB DIMM Ram. I usually create a 512MB swap partition and a 102MB Boot Partition then use the rest for my root partition (/).
