"View New Posts" gives very confusing (wrong) results.

There it is in the title.
It lists threads that were last posted to days ago, and does not list threads that actually do have new posts (since my last visit).

I think it started around Jan 1st.

Clicking the link again sometimes helps, sometimes it's completely random again (actually it wasn't random at all; exactly every other click was chaotic).

Obviously a problem with the forum software (my time/locale is correct and anyhow there's no logic to the result).

edit:
Just managed to take a screenshot. It's a mess:

I noticed a few days ago that when I refreshed the page, only the time was updated. The thread display remained the same with update times for individual threads hours old. I had to click freshly on "View Latest Posts" to get a new display. But since yesterday everything seems normal again.

When I tried to "View new posts" this morning, it showed the newest post as being 7:33 PM two days ago.

I'm getting logged out, when clicking "View new posts"... and when logging in "There are no new posts"...

Have had problems logging in since ~2 days ago, but thanks to support's advice, a reset pw solved things partially.

Can't click "View new posts", "My posts" or "My threads" without being logged out.

I'm not able to reproduce getting logged out - is this happening to anyone else? For the "lists threads that were last posted to days ago" note the "have not been updated but contain unread threads" mention, and also keep in mind that threads with no replies are automatically bumped two times. For "does not list threads that actually do have new posts" there was an issue that would have prevented some new posts from showing. The cache has been cleared and is rebuilding now.

I can confirm that all is back to normal. Thank you Jeremy.
PS. I’ve not been logged out for months (years?), except when I did yesterday to see if it resolved this issue…it didn’t

Not to me, no.

This does not describe what I was experiencing. I know what that list should look like and it simply didn't work yesterday and the day before that (see post #1).
However:

I guess this fixed it. I cannot reproduce the problem anymore (it was 100% reproducible yesterday).
Thank You.

For what it's worth, I have not encountered anything like this.

Possibly a browser cache issue?

You mean when actually clicking the link mentioned?

Unlikely; My browser clears its cache every time I shut it down.

Re-read jeremy's comment; most likely it was a forum software cache issue.
